Chinese Association for Mental Health (CAMH) is a national association whose members are the professionals of psychiatry, psychology, general clinical practice, education and other related fields. It is legally registered as a non-governmental organization whose activities involve public promotion as well as academic conferences. As a multi-disciplinary professional organization, CAMH is an important force to promote the development of mental health science and to improve the mental health status of the people.

Till now, there are 26 provincial branch associations and 14 committees specialized in the mental health issues of the children, the elderly, the adolescent, the college students, the women, the disabled, special professions, and committees for counseling and psychotherapy, psychometrics, crisis intervention, hospice care and Morita therapy.

Many academic activities are sponsored by CAMH through the year, including continuing education programs, conferences, seminars and workshops. CAMH also strive to facilitate the development of psychotherapy and counseling in China and makes publicity drive to improve the awareness of mental health of the public by means of mass media such as newspaper, radio and TVs. CAMH publishes three journals and one magazine: Chinese Mental Health Journal, Chinese Journal of Clinical Psychology, Chinese Journal of Health Psychology, and Psychology and Health Magazine.
